I should have learned by now that I cannot use a Jasper Fforde book as "Something to read before going to sleep", because it means I never get any sleep that night.
It was absolutely brilliant. Loved it almost as much as the Tuesday Next-series, which is saying a lot. Fforde is one of the best, if not THE best, story tellers alive.
The novel is funny, it is exciting, it is full of all the warmth and intricate attention to detail so peculiar to Fforde. Words cannot do him justice, so I will end this review before I blather on pointlessly. It can be summed up simply: I loved it.
And I desperately want a Quarkbeast.
