I thought about giving the book two stars, but that would be for the sole reason that the original is very, very good.
Grahame-Smith's parody is not. It is dull, uninteresting, random and awkward at best. He did not manage to incorporate zombies interestingly into the book at all, and the only times I actually enjoyed reading it, was when longer passages of Austen was left untouched.
But then, the blurb says: "
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read.", and I love the original Austen, so I should've known this book wasn't for me.
